Filipina Migrant Hostesses in Tokyo's Nightlife Industry

Date: Monday, Dec. 3, 2007
Time: 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Location: Wellman 119

Come join the brothers of Chi Rho Omicron Fraternity Inc., Zeta Chapter as we further examine the role of Filipina's in the Tokyo nightlife industry.

Joining us will be University of California at Davis' very own Professor Rhacel Parrenas.

Professor Parrenas will be speaking on the migration of Filipinas to Japan to find work in the entertainment industry. She will also address the stereotypes that are associated with this migration (prostitution, indentured servitude) and discuss what is really happening in the night clubs of Tokyo.

Come learn more about Filipino culture.
